Spheroidal graphite rolls are structurally
characterised by nodular graphites as against flake graphites in normal
cast iron rolls.The presence of Nodular/Spheroidal form of graphite
eliminates the notch sensivity of Cast Iron. S.G.Iron rolls are far
superior to conventional Steel/Cast Iron Rolls due to the unique
combination of superior strength, good resistance to wear, spalling and
fire cracking. |

Iron. The Chilled Layer Consists of Fine Pearlite / Bainite Matrix
with uniform distribution of Cementite backed by a condensed mottle zone
with soft graphite rice inner layer, imparts good thermal conductivity.
